The station is an original service station built in 1937 in the historic district and operated as a Gulf Station and then later operated as a Standard Oil Station or Esso. It was operated as a service station until the mid 80's. It has been restored approximately five years and was opened as a Tourist shop August, 2001. The Fruit Basket (which specializes in gourmet baskskiets for all occasions) moved in to keep the shop opened. We have created a shop for souvenirs, collectibles, apparel, coffees, etc.
When you are in Mayberry, drop in to see us, sit on the front porch in a rocker, enjoy a RC cola and a moon pie, and just enjoy the leisure time while listing to the birds sign. We are located at 625 S. Main Street , below the post office approximately two blocks on the left.
Hours of Operation: Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
